Torque Release Technique in Knoxville TN

Chiropractic Knoxville TN Torque Release

When most people think of chiropractic in Knoxville TN, you think twisting, cracking, popping – the manual methods that have been the standard chiropractic technique for decades. You imagine going to a Chiropractor and having them pop your back with their hands, crack your neck, etc. Though our doctors here at Thrive Chiropractic do know how to adjust with the manual technique, their preferred technique is a little different. It’s called Torque Release Technique (TRT), which means that they utilize a tool called the Integrator.

What is the Torque Release Technique in Knoxville TN?

Our doctors chose this technique for a variety of reasons. In a nutshell, it’s the most gentle, specific, and scientifically reproducible chiropractic technique out there. As opposed to the manual style, you can get the same exact amount of force for every single adjustment. You can also adjust the amount of force based on the needs of the person, which makes it safe to use on anyone from babies to adults. Because every part of TRT is based on research, and scientifically proven, it eliminates the guesswork involved with other chiropractic techniques. Lastly, it’s incredibly specific. The doctors are only moving one bone at a time, and controlling the exact direction in which it moves.

All of this is to demonstrate that chiropractic technology has advanced quite significantly since its inception, and that there are a lot of different techniques out there. The same is true of massage techniques like Deep Tissue or Shiatsu. We do not intend to convey that the manual technique is bad or inferior. We just want to tell you about the technique that we find the most effective in the long-term. If you prefer a different technique, we would be happy to refer you to different chiropractors in the area. So with that being said, let’s get into the details of Torque Release Technique!

What exactly is it?

The founder of TRT is Dr. Jay Holder. TRT is the only technique that was developed out of a randomized clinical trial, using placebo, and blinded. The instrument associated with TRT is called the Integrator. It’s the only FDA approved instrument used to adjust subluxations. Its design is based on the combination of the quantum physics, the mind-body connection, and the best chiropractic techniques out there – all of which make it the first integrated chiropractic system. Through years of research, TRT has been proven to achieve better, faster, and longer-lasting adjustments than ever before. If manual adjustments (meaning twisting, cracking, and popping) make you nervous, you can rest assured with Thrive Chiropractic!

How does it work?

Basically, the Integrator (pictured below), just jolts into the back with the ideal amount of force for each individual in a very specific spot. The Integrator is much quicker than anyone’s hands can be, as it thrusts at 1/10,000th of a second! Though it is lighting fast, its shallow impulse makes it incredibly gentle at the same time. The doctors are able to adjust the amount of force based on the needs of each person, which makes it safe to use on anyone from babies to adults! They’re also able to get the same exact amount of force every single time. The contact point on the Integrator is so small that the doctors are able to pinpoint the exact spot in the spine where an adjustment is needed in order to normalize nerve function. The recoil or bounce aspect actually increases the body’s nerve system response, and the three-dimensional impulse or “torque” factor maximizes the natural effectiveness of the human body. TRT is designed to make a few gentle adjustments each session to ease your body into getting used to proper alignment. For some, results might be apparent right away, but for others, it may take a little longer to feel the effects. The efficacy of the Integrator has been proven by many research studies published in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Why do we use it?

As stated throughout this blog, there are many benefits to using TRT. In summary, it’s the most gentle, safe, specific, trusted, and scientifically reproducible chiropractic technique. Our focus at Thrive Chiropractic is to get to the root cause of your health concerns and to adjust the bones in your spine where subluxations are found so that you will have lasting relief. We want you to feel good, but more importantly, we want you to be healthy and functioning properly!
